As part of a chloride leaching project for a major mining operation, we participated in the supply of pumping solutions and the installation of titanium valves and components, addressing the technical challenges of a hydrometallurgical process under highly demanding conditions.
Titanium Centrifugal Pumps for Hydrometallurgical Processes
The project involved the supply of 24 centrifugal pumps manufactured from Grade 3 titanium alloy, a material that offers high corrosion resistance in certain applications involving chlorides.
This equipment is designed to handle process solutions, where material selection and the reliability of the pumping systems are critical factors in ensuring operational continuity. Our expertise also extends to other pumping applications for corrosive fluids in the mining industry.
Installation of Titanium Valves and Components in Critical Areas
In the solvent extraction (SX) area, we successfully completed the assembly of valves during a 36-hour plant shutdown window, meeting the established deadlines and maintaining an accident-free record.
Additionally, we installed titanium spools and valves in the Refining and PLS (rich leach solution) areas, completing both projects in 46 and 62 hours, respectively.
Experience in Pumping Solutions for Mining
Through this project, we reaffirmed our expertise in pumping solutions for hydrometallurgical processes, integrating equipment manufactured from specialty materials and installation capabilities to meet the operational demands of the mining industry.
We would like to highlight the commitment of our installation and supervision teams, whose work was essential to successfully completing the scheduled activities and helping our client meet its objectives.
